Lake Wylie is a 12,455-acre lake with 325 miles of shoreline offering ample opportunity for watersports activities and lakeside living. Lake Wylie was created in 1902 when a dam was built on the Catawba River near Fort Mill, S.C. The dam was later rebuilt and the lake expanded. Most of the lake is in South Carolina, but the upper peninsula lies in North Carolina.
