After spending over 25 years in the technology sector, I followed my passion for the outdoors and opened the Jocassee Outdoor Center on Lake Jocassee in 1998. That journey connected me deeply within our community - serving on the boards of the Oconee Chamber of Commerce, the Oconee Economic Alliance and the Advocates for Quality Development.

In 2007, I was asked to create and lead the Visit Oconee Tourism Bureau. For 17 years as President & CEO, I worked to showcase everything that makes Oconee County special. Along the way, our team became the only tourism bureau to twice win the Southeast Tourism Society’s Shining Example Award for the best performing tourism bureau in the Southeast US. 

I live on Lake Keowee in Keowee Key with my wife, Marilyn, and our dog, Sammy. We enjoy boating, golfing, hiking, fishing, hunting for wild mushrooms, traveling, healthy cooking, and gardening — I’m also a certified Master Gardener.
