Why Melissa Crockett Willis

There’s a little more gray hair and a lot more wisdom — and I embrace both.

I became a licensed Realtor® in 1987, fueled by a passion for helping people make one of life’s most meaningful moves. For 20 years, I loved every part of the journey — the strategy, the connection, the joy of telling a seller “your home is sold,” and the excitement of handing keys to new homeowners.  In 2007, I joined the Howard Hanna leadership team as Regional Vice President and Broker, where I spent 18 rewarding years mentoring, coaching, and growing with some of the most talented agents in Northeast Ohio.  Now, I’ve come full circle: back to what I love most — working directly with buyers and sellers, using the experience, wisdom, and relationships I’ve built over decades to deliver results and an exceptional real estate experience.

I grew up in Mentor, where real estate was practically a second language in our home. My parents, David and Judie, were both successful agents who taught me the value of hard work, integrity, and genuine care for clients. After graduating from John Carroll University with a degree in Business Economics and Statistics, I followed in their footsteps — and never looked back.  Beyond real estate, I’m passionate about giving back. I’ve served as Chairman of the Lake County United Way, am a proud graduate of Leadership Lake County, and currently serve as Vice President of the Fairport Harbor Port Authority. Nationally, I’ve chaired the AAU Sullivan Award — an honor that celebrates the nation’s top amateur athletes — and I remain active in numerous local school and community initiatives.  I’ve been fortunate to build a fulfilling career while raising a wonderful family with my husband and high school sweetheart, Tim. Together, we’ve raised three incredible daughters — Brita, Korrey, and Brooke — and are now proud grandparents to Hattie and Beckett. We’re lifelong sports fans and loyal supporters of the Madison Blue Streaks, Lake Catholic Cougars, Ohio State Buckeyes, and the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame.

At the heart of it all, I believe in people, community, and purpose. Real estate is personal — and helping others find home is my greatest privilege.
