I’m an avid sports fan (baseball was my first true love) and history nerd, and I look for excuses to go on an adventure. When I’m not working, I’m likely outside in the garden or researching something new and trying to put it into practice. I’ve made mead and fruit wine, built a hydroponic system, harvested sea salt from the North Carolina coast, started and sold a couple of businesses—whatever has managed to pique my interest at the time.
No matter what else I’m up to, I love spending time with my wife and two young daughters more than anything else on Earth. They make life in Western North Carolina that much better.
After graduating from UNC Charlotte with a history degree, I spent most of my life working across the country as a tour guide. From the carriage roads of Acadia National Park in Maine to the halls of a museum in Seattle to the historic streets of Charleston, SC, I’ve learned and shared the stories that make places special.
Tour guides can be thought of as glorified stress-relievers. Yes, we tell stories, share information, and occasionally crack jokes, but guests are often in a new place, experiencing new things, and don’t know where to go, how to get there, or what to do once they arrive. It can be confusing and a bit overwhelming if you try to do it on your own. But with someone there to offer guidance, it can be an incredible experience. I loved hearing about the adventure someone wants to take, then using my knowledge and expertise to guide them down that path while also giving them the space to make the journey their own.
Honestly, real estate isn’t much different. Anyone who has ever bought or sold a property knows that every transaction is an adventure of its own. Without a knowledgeable agent, it can be a nerve wracking experience. Both as an owner-occupant and an investor, I’ve ridden that roller coaster, and it’s not a fun one. My purpose is to alleviate that stress and simplify your journey. It’s to communicate frequently, negotiate effectively, and represent you fully.
