As a lifelong Guilderland resident, William Coons Jr. takes great pride in giving back to the community he calls home. Over the years, William has held numerous leadership roles, including Chairman of the Board for the Guilderland Chamber of Commerce and President of Guilderland Babe Ruth.
William began his service with the Fort Hunter Fire Department in 1981, where he rose through the ranks to become Chief and later President of the department before retiring in 1998. He also served on the Guilderland Zoning Board of Appeals from 1995 to 2000, spending his final two years as Chairman.
In addition to his community involvement, William brings more than 30 years of construction and remodeling experience to his real estate practice. This hands-on knowledge allows him to guide clients with confidence and insight when evaluating properties and renovation opportunities.
Above all else, William is devoted to his family. He has been married to his high school sweetheart, Michele, for 40 years. Michele is the Director of Member Service at the Retail Council and also assists William with his real estate business on weekends. Together, they have two children: William (“Will”), a physical education instructor and gymnastics coach, and Samantha, the Director of Annual Giving at Union College.
