Thomas Wolfe was wrong—you can come home again. For Paulette Childers, returning to the mountains of Western North Carolina was not only a homecoming, but the foundation of a thriving career in real estate.
Raised in Waynesville, where her mother owned a successful real estate company, Paulette learned early the value of hard work, community, and integrity in the business. After graduating from Tuscola High School and studying at Western Carolina University and Appalachian State, she explored the world—but the Blue Ridge Mountains called her back. In 1992, she earned her real estate license and began her career, blending her deep love for WNC with her professional expertise.
Paulette has been recognized for her leadership and service both locally and statewide. She served as President of the Haywood County Board of REALTORS® in 2008, where she was also named REALTOR® of the Year, and has held leadership roles with the North Carolina Association of REALTORS®. Her professional achievements include earning the prestigious Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) designation, held by only a small percentage of REALTORS® nationwide.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Paulette is deeply rooted in her community as a past President of Leadership Haywood and a longtime supporter of local initiatives. These days, she enjoys daily walks around Lake Junaluska, where the mountains offer both peace and inspiration. A lifelong animal lover, Paulette always seems to attract rescue cats who find their way to her home and her heart.
With decades of experience, unmatched area knowledge, and a warm, client-focused approach, Paulette guides buyers and sellers with skill and care. She believes real estate is more than transactions—it’s about relationships that last a lifetime.
