Born and raised in South Dakota, I escaped the prairie winters to attend the University of Miami (Florida) and become a CPA specializing in taxes and real estate with the international firm Deloitte. I married a fellow CPA whose specialty was mergers and acquisitions. We established an investment firm and acquired 16 companies in 17 years. We took the company public in 1993, and along the way I became proficient in textile and interior design.

We sold the companies in 2000, determined to retire, play good golf, and travel. Along the way we discovered and fell in love with The Cliffs at Walnut Cove, Asheville, and western North Carolina. In 2016, I shelved the idea of "good" golf, obtained my real estate license, and joined Walnut Cove Realty, determined to share the special Walnut Cove experience with my clients. 

I love to travel. I discovered Africa 20 years ago, and in between visits and re-visits to the rest of the world, I often return to journey to the wildest parts of the African continent.
