For more than 45 years, Jeff Mathias has been helping families buy and sell real estate throughout Tuscarawas, Carroll and Harrison Counties. A 1979 graduate of Muskingum University with a Bachelor of Business Administration, Jeff began his real estate career immediately after college and has built his business on a simple philosophy: put people first, work hard, and always do what is best for the customer.

Jeff’s passion for real estate goes far beyond buying and selling homes. He genuinely enjoys helping people, building relationships and making a difference in the lives of others. His experience and dedication have placed him among the top-producing Realtors in Ohio, but Jeff considers the trust his clients place in him to be his greatest accomplishment.

Giving Back to the Community

Jeff has always believed that a successful community is built by people who are willing to invest their time, energy and resources in others. He has been actively involved in the Tuscarawas County community for decades.

His community service has included serving as President of the Chamber of Commerce in the 1990s, serving on the Community Improvement Corporation Board since 1992 to help attract jobs and investment to the area, and serving as a former board member of Union Hospital and Hospice, along with numerous other community organizations.

Jeff is particularly passionate about education and the future of our community. He has a strong connection to Kent State University at Tuscarawas and the Performing Arts Center and enjoys visiting area schools to encourage students to dream big, set goals and believe in what they can accomplish.

Jeff has also taken on major community projects. After helping raise the funds needed to acquire and update the New Philadelphia Quaker Dome, he turned his attention to helping some of the most vulnerable members of the community. Over the past several years, he has spearheaded fundraising efforts for a new $5.5 million, 20,000-square-foot homeless shelter in New Philadelphia, designed to provide housing and support for men, women and families, along with a chapel and counseling center.

Faith, Family and People

Jeff’s strong faith is an important part of who he is. He believes we are called to help those who are struggling and to give generously of our time and resources.

He believes in adding value to others, encouraging people, building them up and treating everyone with dignity and respect. One of his favorite messages is “Encouragement is the oxygen of the soul.”

Jeff also frequently reminds people to be grateful—to focus on the good in their lives rather than what they may be missing, to avoid comparing themselves to others and to live with hope, believing that the best is still ahead.

A Team Focused on You

Jeff is fortunate to have one licensed assistant, Dorene Boyd, who has been by his side for 29 years. Together, Jeff and Dorene provide their clients with personal, attentive service throughout every step of a real estate transaction.

Dorene helps coordinate inspections, financing, closing details and all the many pieces that need to come together to make a transaction successful. Their goal is simple: to make the process as smooth and stress-free as possible while paying close attention to each client’s individual needs.
