Dan Mones Lic. RE Salesperson

Dan is a lifelong New Yorker and a proud graduate of Homer High School and SUNY Cortland, where he earned his degree in economics. Early on, he spent time working at his family’s business, Valley View Gardens, gaining an appreciation for hard work and community connection.

After college, Dan began his public service career with Cortland County Department of Social Services, where he supported families and worked to ensure children’s safety and well being. In 2005, had the opportunity to join the City of Cortland Police Department. Over the next 20 years, Dan served in many roles from field training Officer to Sergeant - mentoring fellow officers and working to keep the community safe.

In 2021, Dan transitioned into the Department’s Youth Division, focusing on sensitive cases involving children. Known for his steady presence, dedication, and sense of humor, Dan became a trusted member of the team and a valued leader.

Dan is excited to begin a new chapter alongside his wife Joan, an accomplished realtor with Howard Hanna.  As a husband and wife team with the Kelly Skeval Team at Howard Hanna, their combine strengths offer clients a personalized and professional experience rooted in trust and communication.

Outside of work, Dan loves spending time with his family and cheering on his two teenage sons at their sporting events.
