Whether you canoe, kayak, swim, paddle board, water ski, boat, fish, play hockey, snowshoe, skate or simply enjoy the nature and lake wildlife being able to enjoy our area’s most precious natural resources from your backyard or deeded lake lot drives many homeowners to explore the possibility of a waterfront home. When considering the purchase of a waterfront home, it’s important to decide the type of home you are looking for as well as the nature of the waterfront property itself. Lake homes typically sell for a higher dollar per square foot compared to homes not on the water AND the type of waterfronts vary -- you may prefer to be on the main body of water or possibly purchase a larger house on a canal that leads to the main body of water.
