About Willoughby
Beautiful, historic Willoughby is a vibrant, active city named in Lake County, Ohio, northeast of Cleveland. It was named after Dr. Westel Willoughby, a public health official whom the founders of the local medical college wanted to attract to the area.
As you stroll down the quaint streets of downtown, you will find charming local boutiques, furniture galleries, custom jewelry designers, specialty retail stores, designer shops, art galleries, wine shops and so much more. The downtown area is also home to several restaurants, whose output ranges from fine dining to casual fare.
Leisure activities abound in Willoughby, such as hiking, boating, and fishing at several of the area’s parks, such as Daniels Park or Osborne Park, and Lake Metroparks Farmparks, a unique 235 acre educational farm where visitors can try harvesting, cheese making and sheep shearing. The Great Lakes Mall provides several shopping opportunities, while an indoor sports center allows for entertainment year-round. Todd Field, a large baseball field, Willoughby-Eastlake Public Library and the Holden Arboretum are just a few more examples of local favorites.
