About Twinsburg
Twinsburg, Ohio is nestled quaintly between Akron and Cleveland. Famous for its yearly festival, Twins Day, the city has much to offer!
In 1817, a young boy named Ethan Alling arrived in Township Five, also known as Millsville. Sent to survey the land by his family, Alling was considered to be the first settler of the town. Moses and Aaron Wilcox, who were twins, purchased some of the land and began to sell some of the land to other settlers in hopes to expand the town. The Wilcox brothers were reportedly so identical that only their friends could tell them apart. The twins offered land for a public square and money to start a school if the residents would change the name from Millsville to Twinsburg. Thus Twinsburg was born. Moses and Aaron became long-time business partners, married sisters, had the same number of children, contracted the same ailment, and passed within hours of each other. They are buried in the same grave in the Twinsburg Locust Grove Cemetery.
