About Great Bridge

Great Bridge is a small community located within the larger city of Chesapeake, Virginia. Its name came from a specific battle fought during the American Revolutionary War that is said to have been strategically important in the U.S. winning its freedom.

This community is mainly residential, and due to its proximity to Chesapeake, Great Bridge is home to many local commuters. In addition to a wide choice of housing, this community has several large shopping centers, giving residents convenient access to most needed amenities.

The Elizabeth River runs along the north of the community and offers beautiful views, fishing and other water activities like fishing, and plenty of outdoor space for hiking, walking and/or biking. The Bells Mill Park was once a landfill and has made a full turnaround to become the community’s most beloved park. Bells Mill boasts wetlands, meadows, over two miles of trails, and several picnic areas.
