About Adrian

If you are looking to buy in the Adrian real estate market, you won’t be disappointed. Adrian is a historically rich community with modern amenities and conveniences that accommodate all kinds of lifestyles. Historic downtown Adrian arguably has some of Michigan’s most intriguing historic architecture, such as the Croswell Opera House. Built in 1866, it has been meticulously maintained and restored to preserve its architectural beauty. With an abundance of local shops downtown for residents to enjoy, the community supports the 3/50 Project, whose goal is to promote and support local economies.

The arts are big in Adrian, with attractions including Adrian Symphony Orchestra, Adrian Art Discovery Program, and several festivals throughout the year. Art-A-Licious is a two-day art festival held downtown, and Adrian First Fridays are held the first Friday of each month and feature art and cultural activities. Residents can enjoy popular music during the Library Square Summer Concert Series held in Adrian annually. It is also home to the oldest fair site in Michigan, the Lenawee County Fairgrounds, where annual fairs, festivals and celebrations are held for residents and guests alike.

The ProMedica Bixby Medical Center and the Hickman Cancer Center are two hubs of medical research and health care in Adrian. Education abounds for residents of all ages, including many public schools, Lenawee Christian School, LISD Tech Center and Lenawee Lifelong Learning. Options for higher education in the area include Adrian College, Siena Heights University and Jackson College.

Adrian has a total of 17 community parks, an eight-mile paved trail called Kiwanis Trail, a pool, YMCA, a locally known and admired pool hall, and a number of golf courses nearby. Main roads such as US-223, M-52 and M-34 make Adrian convenient to Detroit, as well as Ann Arbor 35 miles to the northeast, and Toledo, 25 miles to the southeast.
