Home construction is certainly a family affair for J. Michael Ruefle, Jr. and Colleen Ruefle-Haley of Suncrest Homes, Inc., a home building company headquartered in Murrysville, PA. They are President and Vice-President respectively of one of the most prestigious new home construction companies in the eastern suburban area of Western Pennsylvania. This father-daughter team, however, is involved in much more than just the day to day business of Suncrest Homes.
J. Michael Ruefle is a builder who understands the construction industry. He started his career over 35 years ago as an apprentice carpenter and through hands on experience, a business education at Robert Morris College and daily involvement in the development industry, has established an award winning company.
As an active member of the building community, Mr. Ruefle is a past president of the Westmoreland Home Builders Association and the Builders Association of Metropolitan Pittsburgh, a parent organization of local builder associations. Colleen Ruefle-Haley has worked for her dad since she started as an office assistant in 1980 except for a short stint in the field of advertising from 1987 to 1989. She is the first woman president of the Westmoreland Home Builders Association. This father-daughter team believe that their clients are best served when the client, builder and architect/designer work together as a team to ensure a well designed, quality-built home. Patricia Ruefle has been an interior designer for over 18 years and works as part of the award-winning team to help their clients with floor plans and color selections. Working together, the Ruefles combine their efforts to make the building process fun and enjoyable. The Ruefles have had many accolades from the building industry.
Colleen Ruefle-Haley won the WHBA "Builder Of The Year Award" in 1994, an award that was previously won by her father in 1990. In 1995, J. Michael Ruefle won the first annual "Golden Hammer Award" from the Realtors Association of Metropolitan Pittsburgh, given to the builder who best promotes cooperation between the Realtors Association and Builders Association. Suncrest Homes was named "Builder Of The Year" by BAMP in 1999.
From traditional to contemporary, Suncrest Homes covers a wide variety of styles, each designed to capture an abundance of natural light and use living space efficiently. Details such as open foyers, vaulted ceilings, dramatic fireplaces, detailed wood moldings and special window treatments are highlighted throughout Suncrest Homes.
It is extremely important to both of the Ruefles to be at the forefront of the latest trends and designs for new homes so that they can provide a client with the "something extra" that makes a home special and different without sacrificing quality or client relationships.
