Cleveland Heights is home to several distinct commercial districts that serve as attractions for those looking to move into a more urban setting. Though just six miles east of downtown, Cleveland Heights in the early 20th century still felt like the countryside. With the arrival of electric streetcars that made quick, easy passage to and from downtown, the population of Cleveland Heights soared. From the Community Center and Field House to Cain Park, residents have year-round activities available. Cleveland Heights is home to two public libraries, five parks, Cedar Lee Theater, Dobama Theater and several other establishments, such as museums. Considering that most people choose to live within 20 minutes of their place of employment, Cleveland Heights is the neighborhood of choice for many who work in University Circle. Situated right up the hill, Cleveland Heights is a quick trip for people working at the Cleveland Clinic, University Hospital, Case Western Reserve University and other employers in the University Circle area. University Circle is also home to Severance Hall, Cleveland Museum of Art, MOCA, the Natural History Museum, Crawford Auto Museum, and Cleveland Botanical Gardens.
