A Little Background:
Growing up, I learned the importance of hard work and client care. I was raised in the family business back in good ole’ South Carolina. My parents taught me not only how to be successful in every aspect of the business but how important listening and truly caring for our clients was an essential part to our success. I remember working during the summer months when it was all hands on deck. I worked alongside my father, siblings, grandfathers (Grandpop and Granddaddy) while my mom worked inside dealing with the book keeping (along with keeping our bellies full with her amazing Southern Cookin’). I remember every November heading up to North Carolina to meet the “Tree man” and look at the trees we would be receiving for the holiday season. December was such a crazy time for us. After losing my Dad in 2013, I knew just how special all those memories were and how lucky I was to spend those times with my family. I am so thankful for that business for it made me who I am today!
Start of a Career:
I joined the South Carolina real estate team at the ripe old age of 22. Real estate has always been a passion of mine and I truly enjoy helping others find the “right fit”. While in South Carolina, I not only assisted in residential sales but also new construction. I enjoyed helping clients figure out every little detail to create their ‘dream home’. I loved seeing all the different styles and ideas my clients would bring to the table.
In 2016, the Navy brought us to the beautiful state of Virginia. We arrived on Father’s Day weekend and immediately started our search for a rental. We wanted to learn more about each city and find the best fit for our family before purchasing our next home. Thankfully we found the perfect rental and were able to move in that Sunday. Sure enough, the next day my husband reported to work at his new duty station and found out he would be leaving that night for a 7-month deployment. My life turned upside down. We were new to the area, no family or friends, and had no idea what to expect. My 4 year old and I were in for an adventure. I know the struggle that military families face when they move to a new area. That is why I tell all my clients to think of me as family. I work very hard at what I do. I strive to do the best and be as flexible as possible for my client’s needs. I truly love helping others in every aspect of my life and feel like that is what I was placed on this earth to do!
That love for helping others led me into my other passion of being a small business owner of a nanny agency. For many years we have assisted families in finding childcare. However during Covid, in-home care became a necessity. Parents still had to report to work but it became a constant struggle with their little ones being home. We have assisted so many wonderful families but also some of the most amazing first responders. We were honored that our nannies could help care for their children while they continued to go into work to fight for those who were ill from the virus.
In that same year, my husband left the Navy and entered into the civilian world while still being a reservist. Our family had grown and when it was time to make the decision to stay or leave Virginia, it was a no-brainer. This IS our home! We love everything that Hampton Roads has to offer. From the family fun events to the amazing nightlife, we grew to love this area more than we could have ever imagined. That is why I love helping clients find their “right fit” wherever it is. I want my clients to love where they live just as much as I do!
A house is just a house, a Home is made by the love and memories that are put into it!
