Falls & Tripping
- Remove throw rugs or add either nonskid carpet pad or double-sided carpet tape
- Add a non-slip rubber mat around sinks
- Add slip resistant strips in the shower or tub
- Add grab bars to the shower and near the toilet
- Add a small stool in the shower
- Make sure there are no obstructions in pathways from room to room
- Secure electrical cords
Stairs:
- Make sure carpet runners are secure
- Add non-slip strips to wood stairs
- If possible add a motorized chairlift
- Make sure stairways are well lit
Doorways:
- Replace round doorknobs with lever style handles
- Increase door width to 32 inches if needed

What to do to make it your home easy peasy.
- Paint! Paint all of it or just some of it. Your colors, your personality.
- Curtains or blinds? You get to choose.
- Change hardware in the kitchen and bathrooms to update and refresh.
- Install a new showerhead. Give your shower a spa-like feel.
Home maintenance:
- HVAC – Change filters monthly and clean annually
- Fire alarms & carbon monoxide alarms - change batteries bi-annually
- Gutters – Clear debris spring and fall
- Deck cleaning – Annually
- Lawn care and landscaping – It’s easier to do a little bit weekly than have a major project later.
- Roof – Address any issues as soon as it’s noticed
