His civic and professional leadership includes serving as President of the REALTORS® Association of Metropolitan Pittsburgh, as a Director on the Board of the Pennsylvania Association of REALTORS®, and as President Commissioner of the City of Pittsburgh Civil Service Commission.

David is also deeply committed to the cultural vitality of the region. He serves on the Jack Heinz Advisory Board of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra and has held numerous roles in fundraising and leadership with the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy, Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, Riverlife, and Attack Theatre.

His dedication to service and community has earned recognition, including being named one of Pittsburgh's 50 Finest by Whirl Magazine in 2012 and graduating from the City of Pittsburgh Civic Leadership Academy in 2018.
