Joey Laughridge is a Western North Carolina native with deep roots in the Blue Ridge Mountains, having grown up at the foot of Mt. Mitchell. His connection to the region goes far beyond real estate—it’s a lifestyle he understands from the inside out.
Before joining Team Billy Harris in 2017, Joey built a career immersed in private club and golf course communities, serving as a golf course superintendent and later as General Manager at several high-end clubs, including Bear Lake Reserve, where he also held the role of Vice President of Real Estate Sales. This rare combination of operational leadership and real estate experience gives him an unmatched perspective on how these communities truly function—well beyond what most agents can offer.
Today, Joey is widely recognized for his expertise in golf course and amenity-rich communities throughout Western North Carolina. He doesn’t just help clients find homes—he helps them evaluate membership structures, community culture, long-term value, and the overall lifestyle each property supports. His firsthand knowledge allows buyers to make confident decisions with clarity that goes far beyond the listing details.

Joey Laughridge is a native of western North Carolina. He grew up at the foot of Mt. Mitchell, and has always had a deep respect and admiration for this special part of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Joey has an extensive background in both golf and club management in gated communities. His experience includes 11 years as General Manager and Vice President of Real Estate Sales at Bear Lake Reserve. There he developed a passion for working with people and providing excellent customer service. He joined Team Billy Harris in 2017. He enjoys understanding the needs of clients and finding a home or homesite that matches those desires. Whether it’s taking a family on a hike or tour of local attractions, he is known for making an extra effort for his clients to truly experience the area in which they are buying.
When he is not focused on his work, Joey is happiest spending time with his family in and around beautiful Brevard, enjoying live music, or unwinding on the golf course or basketball court.
