Joan is a well rounded professional with a natural gift for service. Before starting her real estate career, she was a case manager for Catholic Charities providing support to individuals and families facing a wide range of challenges. For many years she was a volunteer for the MOPS program (Mothers of Preschoolers) now known as MomCo, serving in various roles from financial coordinator, small group leader, and Program Coordinator.
Joan has earned certification as both a Pricing Strategy Advisor (PSA) and Short Sales and Foreclosure Resource (SFR) from the National Association of REALTORS. These trainings contribute to helping sellers and buyers navigate market trends and accurately estimate home values. She is able to effectively help manage transactions for distressed properties like short sales, pre-foreclosures, and foreclosures.
Joan serves on the local Board of Realtors, working alongside other realtors contributing to the direction of the real estate community. She also serves on several committees, including the Education Committee helping with educating and training for new realtors.
Joined by her husband Dan, their combined strengths offer sellers and buyers a personalized and professional experience rooted in trust and communication. They work as a husband and wife team and are also proud members of the Kelly Skeval Team at Howard Hanna.
Joan grew up in Kings Park, NY and was motivated early on by her mother’s career as a local Realtor. She attended SUNY Cortland receiving a degree in Health Science. She competed in both cross country and track & field. Joan loves spending time with her husband, two sons, family, and community.
