Real estate has been my second career and one I’ve truly grown to love. After retiring from law enforcement, I wanted to stay connected to my community in a meaningful way — helping people find homes and build their lives here felt like the perfect fit.
I started in real estate over 20 years ago and went on to open my own company, Thomas J. Real Estate, serving the Great Sacandaga Lake and Southern Adirondack region. Today, I’m proud to continue that same level of service and local expertise as a Licensed Associate Broker with Howard Hanna Real Estate Services.
Over the years, I’ve been honored to receive several recognitions, including being named Fulton County Realtor of the Year in 2011 and multiple Top Producer awards from the Capital Region Women’s Council of Realtors.
I’m an active member of the Greater Capital Association of Realtors, GLOBAL MLS, New York State Association of Realtors, and the National Association of Realtors.

As the team leader of the Thomas J. Team @ Howard Hanna, Tom is known for his local expertise, strong negotiation skills, and commitment to helping clients achieve their real estate goals.
Tom began his real estate career after retiring from law enforcement, bringing with him a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a dedication to serving others. Since then, he has become a consistent multi-million dollar producer and a respected leader in the real estate community.
Over the years, Tom has earned several professional designations, including Accredited Buyer’s Representative (ABR®), Graduate, REALTOR® Institute (GRI), Seller Representative Specialist (SRS®), and Pricing Strategy Advisor (PSA). These certifications reflect his commitment to ongoing education and delivering a high level of service to every client.
Tom has also served in leadership roles within the industry. He was the 2020 President of the Greater Capital Association of REALTORS®, the 2011 President of the Fulton County Board of REALTORS®, and was honored as the 2011 REALTOR® of the Year by the Fulton County Board. In addition, he served as the New York State Association of REALTORS® Regional Vice President for the Capital District from 2013 to 2014.
As a lifelong supporter of his community, Tom is actively involved with the Edinburg Emergency Squad and takes pride in giving back to the area he serves.
