Why should you hire Sonya Clemente?

Because it has absolutely nothing to do with me, that's why. This is all about getting you, to where you need to be, in the timeframe that you want, with the most favorable terms for you. I believe that the best way to accomplish that, is by having the right agent with the right strategy.

If you have the right agent that knows how to implement the right strategy for your goals and motivations, you will not only succeed but will also benefit regardless of market conditions.

That is why I believe my approach is different. It is focused on competence, strategy and implementation of both to not only empower you to make the best decisions possible but to also gain the benefit.

Good Fortune

Life's serendipitous journey.

Sonya Clemente

Determination and a fighting spirit are two attributes shared by those who served and continue to serve in our nation’s military and they are certainly embodied in Marine Corporal (ret.), Sonya Clemente.

Sonya grew up in Monongahela, PA at a time when opportunities for those graduating from high school were limited to college- or those with the desire and financial resources; minimum wage job opportunities and the military.  With no preconceived grand plan, she joined the Marines due to a serendipitous encounter. And fate would play in many future personal and professional life-molding advancements for Sonya.

As Sonya was nearing completion of high school, she meet a Marine on the street of her home town who encouraged her to visit their local recruiting office and investigate career opportunities with them. She loved what she heard and to the surprise of friends and family enlisted and was off to basic training.

“The Marines helped me gain tremendous self esteem”, says Sonya. “They pushed me far beyond what my self-induced limits were and taught me to endure more than I ever thought I could.” And for the young women who shocked friends and family by joining the military, she had her sights set on becoming a Drill Instructor, helping to forge the lives of other Marines.  When she severely broke her ankle that pursuit became unattainable during her service, but protecting and serving others was still in her future.

Being an MP was something Sonya loved so much so that upon discharge, she quickly got a job as a Deputy Sheriff on the force in Augusta, GA. Again, serendipity played a role as she landed there while visiting a fellow Marine who was interviewing encouraged her to do so as well.

After several years in Augusta, fate would once again play a huge role in the next chapter of Sonya’s life as she connected on vacation with a friend from high school who was residing in Florida where she would be introduced to her next career move. Sonya’s friend was in the real estate business and when she explained what she did and how rewarding it had been for her – Sonya was all in. “What I had learned in the Marines transitioned perfectly into the real estate business,” Sonya recalls. “The Marines taught me to step up and own things - to take responsibility for events and outcomes and those were the fundamental components to my success in this business. Because as a real estate agent you are your own business within the framework of the organization you represent.”

Then another serendipitous turn as family circumstances brought her back to Pittsburgh and Sonya got a position as a Police Officer at the VA Hospital here. When she had her first child she focused her attention on her family and home, but the real estate business was calling and she later got back into it with a passion.

Several years later she interviewed with Howard Hanna Real Estate Services, which proved to be the “perfect home” for Sonya and her infectious personality and work ethic.

An annual multi-million dollar producer, Sonya has had a wonderful 7-year run with Howard Hanna, listing and selling homes.  Working from their Hampton Office, she has earned many of Howard Hanna’s top honors including, Hampton's Top Sales Associate, Champion’s Club and all expense paid trips with Hanna Travel. Additionally, Sonya has achieved what few do in her business - regional recognition from the Pittsburgh Business Times (Who’s Who in Residential Real Estate) and the Leaders’ Choice Award for Excellence in the business.  But of course this Monongahela native doesn’t stop there. Nationally, Sonya is ranked in the “Top 5% of Realtors” having earned the National Sales Excellence award from The Realty Alliance the past four years, an elite distinction very few in any business ever achieve.  Sound familiar? The few, the proud, The Marines!

Sonya resides in Gibsonia  and is married to Shawn Clemente, her “best friend” of twenty-one years. They have  two sons – Shawn and Skylar. Sonya enjoys mentoring youth in the area and provides assistance to our senior community with her therapy dog Sadie as well.
