I am a full-time Realtor® located in the Brunswick, Ohio office.  As a member of the National Association of REALTORS®, the Ohio Association of REALTORS®, and locally of the Medina County Board of REALTORS® I get involved with a number of local community activities. 

I grew up in Parma but have lived in the Medina/Lorain County area for 20+ years.  I also taught high school in the Midview school district (Grafton, Ohio) as well as substitute taught in the Brunswick, Medina, Buckeye and Highland school districts.  Teaching in these various school districts inspired me to promote community involvement with parents, children, the business arena, and other teachers.  We have that same community involvement within the Brunswick Howard Hanna team of realtors, management and support.  This past educational background and current real estate family connection provides me with the best of both worlds to assist clients in selling and/or finding their home(s).

Over the past 10 years there has been a dramatic change in the way people search for their homes.  The Internet is now a buyer’s first look!!  Not only do I have memberships with Zillow and, but I also have the connection in my office which brings me news before a home even hits the market.  This keeps me one step ahead of the competition.

I am involved with the Housing Opportunity Committee (a program under the National Association of Realtors of Medina County) which helps to educate and promote housing among area residents.  I also support several charitable fundraising events including Children’s Free Care Fund (Choo Choo Chow Chow), Autism, Breast Cancer, Pancreatic Cancer, the Oaks Family Care Center and the Salvation Army. 

I love discovering many of the hidden treasures in Ohio’s wonderful Cultural communities, parks and lakes such as Severance Hall and Playhouse Square, the Metro parks, Hinckley Lake, and Lake Erie to name a few.  If you are looking for some ideas on where to go to enjoy Ohio’s four seasons, please give me a call!!!

The Home Buying Process

Our goal at Howard Hanna Real Estate Services is to help everyone realize the American dream of home ownership. We've compiled an easy to follow, step-by-step guide to the process:

  1. Begin With The Best. Begin your home search by establishing a working relationship with your Howard Hanna real estate counselor at any of our conveniently located neighborhood locations.
  2. Become Financially Pre-approved. Begin your home search knowing you are approved to buy. Become pre-approved for your mortgage with the Howard Hanna Mortgage Services loan officer conveniently located in your Howard Hanna office.
  3. Refine Your Home Search. Your Howard Hanna sales associate will help you define your specific housing and lifestyle requirements and will present those homes which match your specified needs.
  4. Present The Offer to Purchase. Once you've found the home of your dreams, your Howard Hanna sales associate presents a written offer to purchase to the seller. The seller either accepts or rejects your offer, or makes a counter offer.
  5. Reaching an Agreement. You and the seller will agree on the price and terms, including closing and settlement dates.
  6. Sale Contract is Executed. We will oversee the contract of sale to assure proper execution.
  7. Mortgage Application Finalized. Secure your mortgage loan with your Howard Hanna Loan Officer.
  8. Earnest Money In Trust Account. At this point, all earnest money must be placed in a Trust Account through Barristers of Ohio Title and Escrow Services.
  9. Inspections Scheduled. At this time, the various home inspections you have elected will be scheduled.
  10. Ordering Title Insurance. We will order clear title verification and title insurance for your new home.
  11. Follow Up On Financing. Your Howard Hanna Mortgage Services Loan Officer will follow up on all details regarding the final mortgage commitment.
  12. Your Mortgage is Approved. Review the terms with your Howard Hanna Mortgage Services Loan Officer, sign and then return to lender.
  13. Purchase Home Owner's Insurance. Obtain homeowner's insurance, which is required by all lenders, prior to closing.
  14. Confirm Closing. Establish the desired date of closing with your Howard Hanna sales associate .
  15. Transfer of Utilities. Review the transfer of utilities with your Howard Hanna sales associate
  16. Confirm Closing Costs. Get the final closing costs from your Howard Hanna Mortgage Services Loan Officer.
  17. Bring To The Closing. Bring your homeowner's insurance policy, a certified check for closing costs, and your checkbook for any potential incidental costs.
  18. You're Home. Congratulations! Title has transferred, we will assure that you receive the title and keys to your home.


Moving Checklist

Address Change:
  • Give forwarding address to Post Office four to six weeks before moving
  • Charge accounts, credit cards
  • Subscriptions: Notice required six to eight weeks
  • Friends and relatives
  • Transfer funds, arrange check-cashing in new city if necessary
  • Arrange credit references
  • Notify company of new location for coverage: life, health, fire and auto.
Utility Companies:
  • Gas, light, water, fuel, garbage.
  • Get refunds on any deposits made.
  • Return cable boxes if necessary.
Delivery Services:
  • Laundry, newspaper, change over of service.
Medical, Dental, Prescription Histories:
  • Ask doctor or dentist for referrals.
  • Transfer needed for prescriptions, eyeglasses, X-rays.
  • Obtain birth records, medical records, etc.
  • Ask about regulations for licenses, vaccinations, tags, etc.
Don't Forget To:
  • Empty freezer, plan use of foods
  • Defrost freezer and clean refrigerator. Place charcoal to dispel odors
  • Have appliances serviced for moving
  • Clean rugs and/or clothing before moving; have them wrapped
  • Check with your moving counselor/company - insurance coverage, packing and unpacking labor, arrival day, various shipping papers, method and time of expected payment
  • Plan for special care needs of infant or pets
  • Check with Agriculture Department of new area to see if they have restrictions on plants
On Moving Day:
  • Carry enough cash or traveler's checks to cover cost of moving services and expenses until you establish new banking services
  • Carry jewelry and important documents yourself or use registered mail
  • Plan for transporting pets; they are poor traveling companions if unhappy
  • Let close friends or relatives know route and schedule you will travel, including any overnight stops. Use them as message headquarters
  • Final check of old residence: double-check closets, drawers and shelves to be sure they are empty
  • Leave old keys, garage door openers, broiler pans, landscape/house plans and instruction manuals needed by new owner with your agent.
At Your New Address:
  • Obtain certified checks or cashier's checks necessary for closing real estate transaction (check title company for details)
