Williamsburg is commonly known as one of the most genuine and friendly communities in America. The town is partially comprised of James City County, York County and encompasses all of the City of Williamsburg. Most people who think of Williamsburg are familiar with its rich history. Located within the Williamsburg area, is Jamestown Island which is often referred to as the Birthplace of America. The College of William & Mary is nestled in the heart of Williamsburg and well known for its remarkable alumni roll. Thomas Jefferson, James Monroe, John Tyler and George Washington don this list of historic alums while contemporaries include Glen Close (actress), Jon Stewart (television host), and Jill Ellis (U.S. Womens Soccer Team Coach). W&M has had some storied coaches, with notables like Lou Holtz, Marv Levy and Jimmye Laycock and Charlie Woollum all coaching in Williamsburg throughout the years. Although Howard Hanna did not sell Thomas Jefferson his home, we are known as the “local” real estate company and have worked with a countless other W&M alumni.
Downtown Williamsburg is host to numerous historic homes which are some of the most sought after properties in the area. While the City of Williamsburg is the hub, most residents actually live in James City County.
