At a time long ago, in a place far away – Dayton Ohio – I was in the Air Force and my wife, Margie, worked at NCR Corporation. She had a colleague, Gary Smith, who had just gotten his real estate license. He would constantly talk with her about the two of us buying a house. He said you can buy a house with no money down – your husband has the opportunity for a VA loan – there is no reason for you to be renting.
We discussed it, and finally, after months of persistence from Gary, we succumbed and met with him. Because of that discussion, a couple who had no intention of staying in the Dayton area after I got out of the service bought our first home. With no money down. We sold that home, made some money and moved on with our lives, moving to Boston then back to Pittsburgh.
Since that time, we have owned 5 more homes, each fitting our lifestyle at the time: no kids; kids; parents; grandson; good hips and bad hips. I learned everything that I needed to know about real estate from our first agent. He was persistent, professional, and knowledgeable, and he guided two 22-year old kids through the purchase of their first home.
That is my goal and how I will serve you.
