Another important role she and her sons enjoy is volunteering for non-profit organizations like JDRF and Relay for Life. Together, they took on a personal level of philanthropy when they launched Ben’s Bears in 2012 by collecting new bears and stuffed animals for donation to the local children’s hospitals. The effort was full-go ~ from advertising, to PR, to setting up collection locations with many local businesses, to gathering, tagging and organizing the 1,300 bears for delivery on Christmas Eve to area hospitals. The success of this program was undeniable and received a lot of media attention and appreciation. Her son “Ben” even received a proclamation from the Mayor of Avon for being the originator of the idea!
