  • Get your House Ready to Sell

  • Remove the Clutter.  You may want to rent a storage unit for a short term to store your items.  Rooms look larger with less pieces in it.

  • If you are thinking of repainting some rooms, make them a neutral color of “New White” or “Ecru”.  Buyers want a “Move in Ready House”.

  • Make your house Anonymous.  Buyers like the homes that don’t have all the pictures and personal items in every room.

  • Clean up the landscaping.  If it is winter, make sure the driveways and sidewalks are clean and safe for walking.

  • Check all of your windows to make sure they open and close easily. If not, a spray of WD40 often helps. Make sure there are no cracked or broken windowpanes. If there are, replace them before you begin showing your home.

  • Repair, Repair, Repair……..

  • Turn on lights when you have a showing.  A house always looks better in the light.

  • An old trick is to bake a pie in the oven.  You can buy a frozen apple pie and reuse it each time there is a showing.
