When a person or family buys a home, they are investing in more than just the bricks and mortar. They are making a long-term choice to become part of a community. The Hanna family and Howard Hanna sales associates and employees are committed to making the communities they serve even better places to live. The company supports many educational, health and social causes and events every year.
The biggest and most impactful commitment is the annual Children’s Free Care Fundraising campaign, which features “Choo Choo Chow Chow” themed events organized by each of the company’s offices and generously supported by local business donations and sponsorships, and attended by the community.
Established in 1988, the mission of the Howard Hanna Children’s Free Care Fund is to assure that children never be denied the best medical care available, whether helping children without health insurance pay for care or to fund cutting-edge care that insurance may not cover.
For 30 years, Howard Hanna Chow Chow events have raised and donated over $15 million to the care of children where the company does business. Last year's campaign produced $1,025,954 – the third consecutive year of raising over a million dollars!
Since 1981, Howard Hanna and Coats for Kids have partnered to ensure that the children and families of Northeastern Ohio have warm coats each winter. In 2016, we collected 6,404 coats. Since its inception, Coats for Kids has provided coats to hundreds of thousands of local children.
