Philadelphia Real Estate

Philadelphia is the “City of Brotherly Love,” the fifth most populated city in the United States.
A historic gem, it is home to such icons as Independence Hall, where the Declaration of Independence was signed, and the famous Liberty Bell. The city was even the temporary national capital during construction of the District of Columbia. It also played a pivotal role as meeting place during the American Revolution.
In addition to its historical attractions, the city has an astonishing collection of museums and artistic venues. Longwood Gardens, Mann Center for the Performing Arts, the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Philadelphia Zoo are among some of the treasures of the city.
Philadelphia sports teams date back to the founding of baseball’s Athletics in 1860. The city has year-round sports and is home to the Philadelphia Eagles, the Philadelphia Flyers, the Philadelphia Phillies and the Philadelphia 76ers.
The second largest national concentration of students can be found in Philadelphia. There are over 80 colleges and universities in the region, and it houses five schools of medicine. The city also contains three major research universities: the University of Pennsylvania, Drexel University and Temple University.
Both visitors and those who call Philadelphia home eat well in the region. Gourmet food trucks are a city specialty, but there are also brick-and-mortar restaurants from such nationally known chefs as Jose Garces and Marc Vetri.
Greater Philadelphia also has a large and growing ethnic population, thanks to job growth and proximity to major cities such as New York and Washington, D.C.
With its robust colleges and universities, professional sports teams and historic institutions, as well as its arts/cultural events, it is easy to see why over 1.5 million people call “Philly” their hometown.
