David C. Paul,
President and Chief Operating Officer of Howard Hanna Smythe Cramer, has been
appointed to a five-year term as a member of the Ohio Real Estate Commission.
The appointment was made by Ohio Governor Robert Taft and approved by the
The role of the
five-member commission is to adopt canons of ethics, advise and set policies,
and make and enforce rules and regulations in the performance of duties relating
to real estate in the state of Ohio.
The appointment is
the latest plateau in his illustrious career. Mr. Paul, who is a licensed
Broker, entered the real estate industry as a REALTOR® in 1971 and joined
Hanna Smythe Cramer in 1980 as Regional Manager. He was named President and
Chief Operating Officer in 1999.
He is active within
the industry, having served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Northern
Ohio Multiple Listing Service, President of the Medina County Board of REALTORS®,
and as a Director with the Cleveland Area Board of REALTORS®. He also has
been a real estate instructor, and has been honored as Educator of
the Year by the Cleveland Board of REALTORS®. The real estate executive also
has been active with the Ohio Association of REALTORS®.
His community activities
have included Jaycees, Kiwanis and Chamber of Commerce.
Mr. Paul resides
in Strongsville with his wife Kathy.
They are the parents of two adult children.
