Last year, 17,625 coats were distributed to local families by the Salvation Army. In addition, coats were provided to 25 social agencies and organizations. Also, nearly $120,000 was collected last year from cashm donations, fundraising events, etc. Monies collected go toward the purchase of new coats. Since Coats form Kids began back in 1981, the campaign has raised more than $3 million and provided warm coats to over 450,000 area youngsters.
Only new or gently-worn winter coats, please!
(No spring jackets, mittens, shoes boots, caps, scarves, etc.
They interfere with sorting and cleaning.)
